BRIGHTON BABY EXPO ACHIEVES SELL OUT SUCCESS

SMB Events, the organisers of Brighton Baby Expo, the premium parenting event for the Southern Counties are delighted to report that the event is now at ‘sell out’ with over 130 companies signed up from throughout the UK and overseas and a waiting list of hopefuls keen to participate. The organisers are now in talks with the venue to secure a limited amount of further exhibition space in order to meet continuing demand.
Brighton Baby Expo takes place at the famous Brighton Centre on Sunday June 8 and will feature the very latest product demonstrations, informal parenting seminars and a packed programme of children’s entertainment, at no charge to visitors. The exhibition will be a ‘one stop shop’ for parents-to-be, parents and extended family members, offering the opportunity to meet exhibitors ranging from fertility experts to financial advisers and from pre-natal education systems to nursery-school providers. Visitors will be able to experience a 4d ultrasound on the day of the event, benefit from expert seminars on a variety of topics including coping with a new baby and the trials of toddlerhood, visit the ‘Little Dish Cafe’ for free natural food for little ones, learn paediatric first aid techniques, book onto NCT classes, enjoy the WOW and Fisher Price play zones and seek advice from midwives and doulas.

Stunning ‘walk-through’ nursery and Buggy Demo Exhibit … Lili May, the Sussex-based nursery emporium who have received national acclamation for their exquisite and comprehensive range of stock and outstanding customer service will be creating a walk-through nursery as well as a fantastic interactive buggy demo area on site. Expert advisors will be on hand to guide parents through, showcasing brands such as Maxi Cosi, Phil and Teds, Quinny Buzz, Stokke, Silver Cross, Bugaboo, Lulu Guiness, Maclaren Leather and Belle Maison (as one of the UK’s only stockists). Lili May will be offering onsite ordering and free country-wide delivery. (Look out on the Lili May stand for one of the most exciting new concepts in buggy development – soon to be launched globally and on display at the event!)
Car seat safety … over 2,000 children are killed or injured in cars each year and research has shown that parents often get the process of selecting a suitable car seat and installing or adjusting it, incorrect. The last national survey (GMTV 2006) revealed that 63% of child seat installations checked fell into this category. Britax will be onsite showcasing Isofix (which has been shown to reduce installation error rate to just 4%) and a range of exciting and potentially life-saving child seat solutions with live demonstrations, expert advice and the opportunity for Q&A’s.
Meet the ‘Mumtrepreneurs’ and the Dragon Slayers! … with one million women-owned businesses in the UK and more than 50% of new mums keen to set up their own companies (source - Tesco Baby and Toddler Club), Brighton Baby Expo will give visitors the chance to meet the mums and business success stories who famously received substantial investment offers from BBC2’s Dragon's Den notorious panel of venture capitalists. Cuddledry® and Truly Madly Baby will both be represented within the exhibition showcasing their exciting product ranges. Nicky Chisholm, senior business advisor and founder of ‘Mums in Biz’ will be joined by the ‘Dragon Slayers’ in a panel discussion, advising and inspiring mums and mums-to-be on new business start ups, achieving the work/family life balance and addressing the challenges busy mums face.
Family friendly vehicles… Nissan will be showcasing the ‘Qashqai’, which recently received the highest-ever recorded score for occupant protection in the Euro Encap crash test and the ‘Note’, which once again won best supermini multi-purpose vehicle at the Auto Express New Car Honours awards.
Model Mummies … March sees the launch of the Brighton Baby Expo/Yummy Mummy Maternity Fashion show model competition. For all those pregnant or breast-feeding ‘fashionistas’, Yummy Mummy Maternity will be showcasing a fantastic range of every-day essentials, designer ranges and evening wear and offering lucky competition winners the chance to be a model for the day. Prizes include £100’s of pounds worth of vouchers to spend at Yummy Mummy Maternity. (Closing date May 5)
And don’t forget the fathers… one week from Father’s Day, Brighton Baby Expo is all about the dads, welcoming a significant presence from the National dad’s mag, ‘FQ’ and also ‘Ye Gads’ - the website created by dads for dads. Fathers will be able to access advice and information on a range of issues to include pregnancy and birth, finance, paternity rights and those essential ‘new dad’ gadgets and gizmos!
